In front of the Farkas street Calvinist church stands a copy of the equestrian statue of St. George, made by Márton and György Kolozsvári in 1373, the original can be found in Prague.

The Farkas street Reformed Church was ordered to built by King Matthias, who financed it on his own expences, between 1468 and 1516 in gothic style. The church was used by the minoritas originally.

The church became Calvinist in the years of reformation. Its tower and the minorita friary were pulled down in 1644, because of the damages of the religious riots. Even the frescos and the altar have been destroyed that time. The Renaissance pulpit was placed in 1644 at the reconstruction of the church. The colored organ closet has been made in 1766. The Apafi tomb was designed by Károly Kós.

 

The St. Michael Cathedral was built in the first half of the 14th century, on the place of the St. Jacob church and was finished in 1442 in gothic style.

The three naves church is 50 meters long and 22 meters high. In the time of the princes became Calvinist and only in 1718 got back to the Roman Catholics again.

The roof and the furnishing have been destroyed in a fire in 1698. After the reconstruction it was refurnished in Baroque style as it is today. The church-tower is 80 meters high and was built in 1837 in neogothic style.
